Interview with Thorben Meyer in the Wirtschaftsforum magazine

Gebaeude in Blexen mit Leitungen

The Blexen-based underground storage company (USG) is facing a major transformation. Having previously secured strategic crude oil reserves, it is now focusing on the future of energy storage: hydrogen. Managing Director Thorben Meyer explains USG’s ambitious plans in an interview: the company currently operates eight caverns with a geometric volume of 2.2 million m3. USG plans to contribute its expertise and potential for expansion in underground storage to the energy transition in the context of the addition of new hydrogen caverns.
